INDIA/CANADA – Resumption of e-visa applications

As of 22 November 2023, Canadian nationals can re-apply for an e-visa for India for tourist or business travel.

As a reminder, on September 22, Indian consular posts in Canada suspended the issue of visas to Canadian nationals for an indefinite period.

VIETNAM - Semi-annual declaration for foreign workers

Companies employing foreign workers must complete the semi-annual declaration of foreign workers by 5 January 2024.    

CHINA - Implementation of the "apostille" convention

At the beginning of the year, China announced its accession to the Hague Apostille Convention of 5 October 1961, which facilitates the use of public documents abroad.

This convention has now come into force, simplifying immigration procedures.

MALAYSIA - Visa exemption for Chinese and Indian nationals

The Malaysian government has announced the introduction of a visa exemption for Indian and Chinese nationals, allowing them to travel to Malaysia without first obtaining an entry visa for stays of less than 30 days. This exemption will apply until 31 December 2024.
