Mission
The Product Manager's role is to coordinate a complex product or set of products, ensuring that they are aligned with the company's overall strategy. He or she facilitates exchanges between the various Product Owners (PPOs) or Application and Services Managers (ASMs) within the scope of the project, ensuring overall consistency and taking the necessary decisions.
Its role is to meet the company's needs, while remaining close to customers and users, in order to maximise the value generated as quickly as possible.
Main activities:
- Defining the product vision :
- Gathering, developing and supporting the product vision.
- Co-constructing product strategy with business stakeholders.
- Sharing this vision with the product team and ensuring that stakeholders are properly represented.
- Product management :
- Identify expected functionalities based on their added value and impact on users, and prioritise them to plan product releases.
- Manage the product budget and update the roadmap regularly, communicating it to all stakeholders.
- Break down, refine and prioritise the backlog (developments, projects, patches, etc.).
- Monitoring achievements and progress :
- Manage and update the backlog according to priorities.
- Monitor the progress of the work and report on it regularly.
- Writing acceptance test cases and validating the work at each stage.
- Leading medium and long-term backlog presentation sessions with stakeholders.
- Quality assurance and production launch :
- Validating the integration and production launch of new product versions.
- Organising user/business tests and associated training.
- To monitor the quality of the finished product using performance indicators and ensure that commitments are met in terms of budget, deadlines and value produced.
- Monitoring and continuous improvement :
- Set up a monitoring system to ensure that the product is working properly and being used correctly.
- Make proposals for continuous improvement or dismantling the product if it becomes obsolete.
- Manage or contribute to the monitoring of contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual commitments.
- Coordinating actions and interactions between several PPOs or RA&S to ensure consistency across the perimeter.
- Anticipation and arbitration :
- Arbitrating priorities between the various PPOs to maintain the consistency of the product scope.
- Anticipating the long-term needs of the various products under its responsibility.
This role combines a strategic vision with a strong involvement in operational management, while fostering ongoing collaboration with the business and technical teams.
